Dragon the Imp

Some info about the project

Less than 1500 polygons! From concept to completion in 3 days, Dragon the Imp was made as a personal side project during my first week at the Entertainment Technology Center. This included modeling, retopologizing, rigging, weight painting, texturing, normal mapping, animating, setting up in unity, and adding a simple script to randomize the colors of the glow sticks every time (only viewable in the unity build).

  • Role: Sole Contributor
  • Period: Sept 2015
  • Platform: PC
  • Genre: Uh...Rave?
  • Concept:I wanted to make a fat little dragon but everyone kept saying that he looked like an imp, so I just made him an imp named Dragon that wants to party so badly he can't help it.
  • How to play:all you do is start the application (or watch the video),
  • Post Mortem:
    • What went right
      • - The belly jiggle was amusing and believable
      • - Viewers responded positively to the payoff moment
      • - A pipeline from ZBrush to Maya to Unity was layed out and implemented
    • What went wrong
      • - the repetition is too noticeable (especially in the group)
      • - rotating lights at the top look like a disco not really a rave, a strobe would be better

Programs Used

  • Autodesk Maya
  • Unity
  • ZBrush
